MATERIAL HANDLER

$19.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Clean and prepare metal and various materials for welding.
- Assist in finishing parts, tanks, and pans by grinding, polishing, or painting.
- Supply welders with materials for current and future projects.
- Manage material flow and storage efficiently.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers to transport materials and projects safely.
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and load materials.
- Load trailers using a forklift.
- Operate metal fabrication machines such as grinders, drills, and presses, and complete shipment paperwork.
- Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and instructions to accurately create parts while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in lifting and moving heavy materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to support workplace efficiency and safety.
- Inspect and report on the condition of trailers and collection containers.
- Comply with workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist in tank assembly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools (e.g., saws, squares, scrapers, grinders).
- Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and overhead cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and drawings.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and willingness to use protective gear (face shield, gloves, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
- Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
- Forklift operation experience required.
