Musical Theatre Dance Class for Children

Children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades:  A beginning level course.  No previous dance training is required.  Instruction will include basic, warm-up and stretches, basic locomotor skills (walk, runs, leaps) and simple Broadway-style choreography.  Elementary singing, beginning tap dance, stage directions and use of facial expression will be taught; therefore, preparing students for further instruction in acting, voice and/or dance.  A showcase will be held on April 4th.

Students in 4th to 8th grades:  Designed for the student who has had previous training & is capable of working at a faster pace.   Lessons will focus on the different styles of dance used in traditional American musical theatre, using music from Oklahoma, Grease, Annie or A Chorus Line.  A showcase will be held on April 4th.
