DESCRIPTION:Texas Ranger Day and a Big Star Texas Night in historic Burton\, Texas\, on Saturday\, August 13\, 2011. Celebrate Burton's history and honor former and current Texas Rangers. We'll get started with a Fajita and Bean cook-off at the Burton Railroad Depot at 507 N Railroad Street with team CHECK IN BY 2pm. The Old West Rangers\, a living history organization sanctioned by the Former Texas Rangers Foundation and Association\, will be performing Live Action re-enactments during the day. We'll have western swing and old time country music provided by The Fun Country Band on the depot porch and a silent auction from 2-6pm. There will also be an educational display for viewing which includes museum-quality replicas as well as actual relics including firearms\, knives\, badges\, personal effects\, original photos\, original documents\, and trappings which once belonged to some of the most distinguished lawmen in history\, and a silent auction.  Fajita and bean serving will be from 4-6pm for $6.00\, children under 10 are free. Starting at 6:30pm on Main Street we'll have a Live Auction and then the dance will kick off with Crossroads performing\, followed by Gary P. Nunn . Tickets for the dance are $10 per person.
