DESCRIPTION:Be transported back in time this December to experience a Victorian Christmas at the historic Faison House in La Grange.\n\n	On December 10 from 5-8pm\, visitors can experience the house dressed for Christmas just as is was in the late 1800s. The rooms will be lit by the glow of the fireplaces\, there will be Christmas carols on the porch\, and a spectacular Christmas tree\, dressed by the La Grange girl scouts\, will take center stage in the parlor. Visitors can admire the house and be refreshed with wassail and homemade cookies.\n\n	Built in the 1840s\, the Faison House is a living museum. One of the oldest homes in Fayette County\, it was first owned by Texas Hero and benefactor\, Nathaniel Faison. He bequeathed the home to his former maid and freedwoman Louisiana Brown\, who became one of the few female African-American property owners in the state.\n\n	The house eventually returned to the Faison family and was owned by them until 1961. It is now owned by the La Grange Garden Club and has been carefully restored by an army of enthusiastic volunteers over the last 50 years. Many original furnishings and decorations still remain in the home\, which looks much as it would have done during Victorian times.\n\n	The Faison House is located on 822 S Jefferson Street\, La Grange.
