DESCRIPTION:A LECTURE BY:   Toody Byrd              \n\n	"Tea with Toody"\n\n	 Thursday\, November 15\, 2012\, 4:00pm - 5:30pm\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	Back by popular demand\, Toody Byrd will return for an afternoon of storytelling ranging from school stories to stress management to parenting and grandparenting . . . and great-grandparenting! at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday\, November 15\, 2012\, in the Blinn Student Center Banquet Room.  In addition to spending the afternoon with Toody and enjoying tea and cookies\, registrants to the tea will get a signed copy of Toody's book Toody Byrd Talks andTalks and Talks and Talks and Talks   \n\n	\n\n	Toody Byrd retired in 1991 as Director of Guidance and Student Services for the Eanes Independent School District in Austin\, Texas\, where she had worked as a counselor for twenty years\, to pursue a post-retirement career of speaking and consulting work throughout the country.  She has been a keynote speaker for statewide conventions in thirty-five states\, been an active writer\, and is a member of numerous professional organizations and councils.  Her numerous awards include the American School Counselors Writing Award\, the 1981 Outstanding Counselor of Texas\, the 1983 Carl Brett Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Education by the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin\, and the 1989 Presidential Award for the Texas Association of Counseling and Development.  The 71st Legislature of the State of Texas designated Toody Byrd as a State Treasure.\n\n	\n\n	As Jane Phenix-Brown of the Austin American Statesman said in her response to Toody's book\, "Toody's wisdom does not come wrapped in a saccharin bow.  She is saucy\, not stodgy mischievous\, fun-loving and somewhat irreverent a shorter\, rounder\, more mature Mary Poppins."   \n\n	 \n\n	We hope you will join Toody for a day of laughs\, memories\, and wisdom!Lecture fee: $15 each    \n\n	Register by November 8\, 2012
